With a background in both fine art and engineering, sculptor George Boileau creates works of art that situate intricately detailed figures in alienating structural environments that can be associated with technocratic advancement. Yet, Boileau’s bronze and steel sculptures always bespeak the intellectual strength, resilience and dignity of humankind. Formerly the department head of Sculpture & Installation at OCAD University (1987-2012), Boileau has exhibited extensively over the past three decades. His sculptures can be found in numerous public and private collections and his public art commissions adorn various sites across the country.
