Forest & Sky comprises a selection of Reid’s paintings and new works on paper. Reid documents the deterioration, regeneration, and fragility of the natural landscape. His paintings are alive with texture and abstracted by his brushstrokes. While often documenting the Ontario landscape around his studio in the Caledon region, Reid’s most recent works on paper capture scenes from his travels around Canada and the United States and act as a transition from dense forest scenes into imagery of vast open skies. Forest & Sky is a glimpse into Reid’s newest body of paintings titled Field of Vision, slated for exhibition in 2016.
