Traditional West Coast Bentwood Boxes by Bruce Alfred, a premier artist of the Kwakwaka’wakw Namgis band. Alfred specializes in Bentwood boxes and chests that are meticulously elaborately carved and painted. Alfred’s boxes are unique in the shaping of the lid; it resembles a seat that corresponds to the traditional style of chests owned by the Chiefs who sit on the boxes during special occasions.
