Lonsdale Gallery is pleased to present the work of mid career photo-based artist Christine Germano. This exhibition showcases the Wadhams / Nowell Memorial Potlatch, a ceremonial feast which documents the preservation of a lost tradition and the re-birth of life. Through song, dance, rituals and the telling of stories, family histories, understandings and traditions are passed on.
Germano”s bold black and white photographs capture the intensity and spirit of this ritualistic event.
