KEITH W. BENTLEY & KATHERINE TZU-LAN MANN
May 1 – June 15, 2014
Pairing the evocative ink-stained paintings of Mann with Bentley’s mutated historical sculptures brings to mind Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach. Rorschach’s famous ink blots—however highly abstracted and non-referential—are still catalysts for the human imagination today. Both artists in this duo exhibition achieve a level of abstraction comparable to his ink blots that inspires a creative response in their viewers, as the mind seeks to ascribe something recognizable and subjective within these morphing artworks.
